ALS Digital is a WooCommerce agency in Southampton, Hampshire. Our WooCommerce developers design and build custom WooCommerce websites for UK retailers and trade suppliers. We use WooCommerce when an ecommerce website needs things Shopify makes hard, like trade accounts, complex products or deep integrations, and we build every site to pass Google's Core Web Vitals.
Price guide: From £5,000 for a straightforward website to around £50,000 for a complex build with integrations. You get a fixed written quote after the briefing, before any work starts.
How we work
- Briefing. We learn how your business sells, who buys from you and what's slowing you down, before anything is designed.
- Recommendations. We suggest what's worth building and what isn't, so the budget goes on what will make a difference.
- Fixed quote. A written price for the agreed scope, with no surprises later.
- Design and build. A site designed around your products and customers, not a pre-built template with your logo on it.
- Launch and grow. Tracking from day one, then SEO, Google Ads and development support if you want them.

Common questions
Shopify vs WooCommerce: which should I choose?
Choose Shopify if you want the quickest launch, a standard catalogue and low maintenance. Choose WooCommerce if you need trade accounts, unusual product types, full control of your data, or integrations Shopify's apps don't cover. We build both, so we recommend whichever fits.
How long does a WooCommerce build take?
Usually 4 to 6 months from the signed brief to launch, depending on how complex the site is. Large builds with ERP integrations or big catalogues can take longer. We agree the timeline in the fixed quote.
Can you move my ecommerce website from Magento to WooCommerce?
Yes. We moved Beds Are Uzzz from Magento 2 to WooCommerce, including around 13,000 product variations, and keep URLs redirected so search rankings carry across.
Do you look after the site after launch?
Yes. Every new site comes with a 3-month warranty for snags and issues. After that, we recommend updating WordPress, WooCommerce and plugins at least every 3 months, so security patches and the latest improvements are applied. We do this on a monthly retainer or as one-off updates, and most build clients also keep us on for new features, Google Ads and SEO.
How do you keep the site secure?
In layers, set up before launch. We usually run an on-site web application firewall (WAF) such as MalCare, which scans for malware and blocks attacks on WordPress itself, alongside Cloudflare at the edge, which filters bad bots and attack traffic before it reaches your server. Keep the site updated at least every 3 months and most common attacks never get a foothold.
Can I update the site myself?
Yes. We build custom editing fields for your pages and products, so your team can change text, images and offers without touching code, and without the bloat of a page builder.
How much does a WooCommerce website cost?
Our WooCommerce websites range from £5,000 for a straightforward site to around £50,000 for a complex build with trade pricing, ERP integrations or large catalogues. The range is wide because we don't start from a pre-built template. Every project begins with a briefing, where we look at how your business sells and what the site needs to do, and suggest what's worth building. Then you get a fixed written quote.
